A disciple of vidushi B. Nagalakshmi, 15-year-old Ramana belongs to the Karaikudi Sambasiva Iyer family.

The 4th International Conference on Music & Dance and the 13th Annual Music & Dance Festival of Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha, Bangalore will be held from June 24 to 28, 2017.

Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Trishika Kumari Wadiyar will be Special Guests of Honour and confer the Yuva Purandara Awards 2017

Dr K. Radhakrishnan former chairman, ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space, Govt of India will be the Guest of honour and present the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Awards of Excellence 2017.

Purandara Award 2017 will be conferred on Dr Padma Subrahmanyam and Yuva Purandara Awards 2017 will be presented to Ramakrishnan Murthy and on M B Hariharan & S Ashok (Bangalore Brothers)

Vocalist Amritha Murali sings with B Ananthakrishnana on the violin and S J Arjun Ganesh on the mridangam.

Ramani's Academy of Flute run by flute maestro N Ramani remembers veteran flute vidwan T.R Mahalingam, fondly known as 'Flute Mali' on May 31, 2017.


The guests on the occasion are 'Cleveland' V V Sundaram, mridangam vidwan Madirimangalam Swaminathan and violin vidwan Sikkil Bhaskaran will remember Flute Mali and a flute concert by T A Sivadasa will follow with Kumbakonam Gopinath on the violin and Vaiddeeswarankoil V Parthasarathy on the mridangam.

The event will be from 6 p.m. onwards at Ragasudha Hall, Luz Avenue, Mylapore, Chennai and is open to all.
